In March we will meet at Mary’s house to discuss The Tiger’s Wife. Mary will also provide a selection of books and refreshments.
The book for April is written by Gwendolyn Bounds and called Little Chapel on the River: A Pub, A Town and the Search for What Matters Most.
*****BUT WAIT, THERE”S MORE!!!*****
Martha brought an alternative selection of books. We decided to read The Republic of Imagination: A Life in Books by Azar Nafisi as our September selection. But to prepare for this, we should either read or reacquaint ourselves with the three novels it discusses: Babbitt by Sinclair Lewis, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. We hope to read these three novels at our own pace over the next months and then read The Republic of the Imagination for our September meeting.
